Journey at a Glance
From the northern coast to Marrakech through Morocco's city life.
This route connects Chefchaouen, Fes and Rabat before finishing in Marrakech. Volubilis and the road between the cities give the journey its historical thread.
Seven days are used for an urban and cultural journey without a Sahara detour. The Marrakech finish is brief: a full extra city day needs another night if your departure is early.
Perfect for
Travelers interested in Morocco's urban and cultural history with seven days available.
Journey style
A private city-to-city journey with six overnights, a guided Fes day and an onward finish in Marrakech.
What makes this route special
The northern medinas, Roman heritage and the capital fit into one connected route, with a full Fes day protected between the transfers.

Who It Suits
Travelers interested in Morocco's urban and cultural history with seven days available.
The planning tradeoff
Only one night in Marrakech. An early departure on Day 7 leaves little time to explore the city; extend the stay for a fuller visit.
Planning Range
Indicative planning range for two travelers: €4,000–€7,000
Planning basis
- Two travelers sharing one room or tent
- Private vehicle, professional driver and agreed arrival/departure transfers
- Locally rooted stays with room budgets that vary by comfort level and date
- Fes and Volubilis local guides
- Breakfast where provided by the selected stay; other meals and entrance tickets excluded unless specified
- An allowance for vehicle positioning on this one-way route; exact logistics confirmed in the proposal
This is an indicative planning range, not a fixed booking price. Dates, group size, room configuration, comfort level, route details, and selected inclusions shape the final proposal.
Choose your journey from Tangier
5, 7 or 10 days?
These are different route shapes, not simply longer versions of the same trip. Choose by your departure city and whether the Sahara belongs in your journey.
5 days
Keep the focus on the north and finish in Fes
Tangier, Chefchaouen and Roman heritage lead to a full guided Fes day. There is no Marrakech transfer or Sahara detour.
7 days
Continue through Rabat to Marrakech
Follow the northern and imperial-city route without the Sahara. Marrakech has one overnight; add a night for a full city day.
10 days
Include the Sahara and southern valleys
Protect two Sahara-region nights and guided Fes and Marrakech days, while accepting the substantial road days between regions.
Sample Day-by-Day Itinerary
This is an inspirational route at a clear duration, not a rigid package. The final journey can adapt around your dates, start and end points, pace, accommodation preferences, activities, guide days, season, and wider Morocco plans.
1Arrive in TangierOvernight: Tangier
- Confirmed arrival pickup
- Ferry or flight timing
- Tangier orientation when practical
- Overnight in Tangier
Meet at your agreed Tangier port or airport. An orientation can fit around the arrival, but ferry delays or a late flight may leave only time to settle into your accommodation.
2To ChefchaouenOvernight: Chefchaouen
- Northern Morocco by road
- Chefchaouen medina time
- Private transfer
- Overnight in Chefchaouen
Continue towards Chefchaouen and keep space for its medina rather than treating it as a quick photo stop. Overnight here before the longer historical road south.
3Volubilis, Meknes and FesOvernight: Fes
- Volubilis with a local guide
- Meknes if the schedule permits
- Arrival in Fes
- First of two Fes nights
Visit Volubilis with a local guide en route to Fes. A Meknes stop depends on the pace and available time. The day ends in Fes, where you stay for two nights.
4Fes with a local guideOvernight: Fes
- Full guided city day
- Fes medina and craft areas
- Visits shaped around your interests
- Second night in Fes
Give Fes a full day with a local guide. Plan the medina visit around the places and crafts that interest you, with no onward city transfer at the end of the visit.
5Fes to RabatOvernight: Rabat
- Private transfer to Rabat
- Capital city time after arrival
- Visits fitted to opening hours
- Overnight in Rabat
Travel from Fes to Rabat and use the remaining time for the capital. The exact sightseeing plan follows arrival time and opening hours; an additional city guide can be arranged in the proposal.
6Rabat to MarrakechOvernight: Marrakech
- Onward road to Marrakech
- Casablanca only if timing permits
- Protect the Marrakech arrival
- One Marrakech overnight
Continue from Rabat to Marrakech. A short Casablanca stop is possible only when it leaves a sensible arrival time. This sample includes one night in Marrakech, so the following day's flight matters.
7Marrakech and departureOvernight: Departure day
- Departure timing comes first
- City time only if the schedule permits
- Agreed private transfer
- Extra night needed for a full city day
Fit any final city time around your confirmed departure. This is not a full guided Marrakech day. Add a night if you want to explore the city properly before leaving.
