Can Morocco fit after Spain or Portugal?
Yes, when the journey is built around the place your European trip actually ends, your usable Morocco days and the next departure. Tangier is one possible gateway, especially when a northern Morocco road journey is the purpose. It should not become the default simply because Spain or Portugal appears elsewhere in the holiday.
A traveler finishing in southern Spain faces a different connection decision from someone finishing in Lisbon or Porto. Start by comparing the complete journey to Morocco, including getting to the port or airport, boarding, arrival formalities and the transfer to your first stay. Only then decide which Moroccan route makes sense.
Arhhal plans the agreed Morocco services. Your European arrangements, international tickets and any services outside that agreement remain separate unless expressly included in your proposal.
Adding Morocco after Spain
For a trip ending near the Strait of Gibraltar, compare a ferry arrival with the flights available for your dates. Baleària currently lists Tarifa to Tangier Ville. Confirm the operator, exact ports, date and check-in instructions before buying a ticket or agreeing a pickup.
The sailing itself is only one part of the connection. Your departure from a Spanish hotel, transport to the port, boarding time, arrival procedures and meeting your Moroccan driver all belong in the plan. Do not promise yourself a full Chefchaouen sightseeing day on top of an uncertain arrival.
A one-way Morocco route can finish in Fes or Marrakech, rather than returning to the crossing. If you must go back to Spain through Tangier, tell Arhhal before choosing the sample journey. The published five-, seven- and ten-day routes do not include a return to Tangier.
Adding Morocco after Portugal
Check the flights available from the place where your Portugal trip ends. TAP publishes a Lisbon-to-Morocco flight search, but that does not establish a suitable Tangier flight or a nonstop service for your dates. Compare the actual Moroccan arrival city, connection time, luggage conditions and total travel time.
If Spain is already part of the holiday, a later ferry crossing may fit the sequence. Adding a separate journey across Spain only to reach Tangier needs a reason: the northern route should be something you want, not a transfer imposed by the name of the trip.
If your best connection arrives in Marrakech or Casablanca, start by comparing journeys suited to that gateway. A Morocco extension can work without Tangier. Share your existing European bookings so Arhhal can challenge unnecessary backtracking before shaping the Moroccan portion.
Five, seven or ten days in Morocco?
Choose using Morocco days, not the length of the whole Spain–Portugal–Morocco holiday. An arrival evening and an early departure still occupy dates on the calendar. The sample durations include arrival and departure days, with activities adjusted to their actual timing.
Five days keep the focus on the north and finish in Fes. Seven days continue through the imperial-city route to Marrakech without the Sahara. Ten days add the Sahara and southern valleys, with two nights in the desert region and longer road commitments. Treat that as a full Morocco chapter.
More places do not automatically make the better extension. If the European trip is already busy, extra recovery time or a narrower northern route may be more useful than reaching the desert. If the Sahara is the priority, give it the days the geography requires.
What budget should you plan for?
The following planning ranges are totals for two travelers sharing one room or tent. They refer to the Morocco sample journeys and their stated services, not to a combined European holiday or an all-inclusive international travel package. Exact stays, dates, room configuration and selected services shape the proposal.
- Read the individual journey page for its inclusions and exclusions. Meals, entrance tickets and extra activities are not automatically included.
- Allow separately for international travel, European arrangements and anything outside the agreed Morocco proposal.
- Tell Arhhal about accommodation already booked before comparing a full journey with transport-only support.
| Sample journey | Total for two travelers |
|---|---|
| 5-Day Northern Morocco Road Journey | €2,700–€4,500 |
| 7-Day Northern Morocco & Imperial Cities Road Journey | €4,000–€7,000 |
| 10-Day Tangier to Marrakech Grand Road Journey | €7,000–€13,500 |
Make arrival and onward departure part of the route
Tangier Ville, Tangier Med and Tangier airport are distinct meeting points. Send the actual ticket details rather than asking for a generic Tangier pickup. The first day should absorb the arrival process, not depend on clearing it at an exact minute.
Choose the finish before confirming onward tickets. The five-day example ends in Fes; the seven- and ten-day examples end in Marrakech. A return to Tangier, a different airport or an additional city can change the number of nights, road time and price. Arhhal confirms the agreed departure transfer in the proposal.
What to tell Arhhal
- Where your European trip ends, including the city and date.
- Your proposed Moroccan arrival point and any ferry or flight already booked.
- How many days and nights you can spend in Morocco, and your onward departure plans.
- Party size, room needs, accommodation already arranged and the places you most want to protect.
- Whether the Sahara matters enough to accept the longer road days, or whether a northern cultural route is the better fit.

FAQs
Questions Travelers Ask
Does a Morocco extension have to start in Tangier?
No. Tangier suits the published northern routes, but the best gateway depends on the European endpoint, available connections and your Moroccan priorities. Compare other arrival cities before committing.
Can we include the Sahara in five or seven days from Tangier?
The published five- and seven-day Tangier samples do not include the Sahara. The ten-day sample does. A shorter desert request needs a separate feasibility review rather than adding the Sahara to an unchanged northern itinerary.
Are ferry tickets and the European holiday included?
They are not part of the default Morocco ground scope. Arhhal's proposal specifies the Morocco services, inclusions and exclusions agreed with you.
Can we return to Spain after the journey?
Share the required return point and date before choosing the route. The samples finish in Fes or Marrakech; returning through Tangier requires separately planned time and transport.
