Can Travel Advisors Book Their Own Hotels and Use a Morocco DMC for the Rest?

A Morocco DMC relationship does not have to be all or nothing. If you prefer to keep your client's hotels, preferred hotel relationships, and accommodation bookings on your side, Arhhal can build and operate the Morocco ground operation around them.

You can keep hotel bookings and accommodation relationships on the advisor side.
Arhhal can coordinate the confirmed transport, guides, experiences, Sahara logistics, and local delivery around those stays.
Advisor-booked hotels still need an operational review because location, vehicle access, timing, and route logic affect the journey.
Clear responsibility lines protect both the advisor relationship and the traveler when several parties are involved.

It does not have to be an all-or-nothing DMC relationship

Some advisors want a destination partner to coordinate the full Morocco scope, including accommodation. Others already have hotel relationships, preferred booking channels, or accommodation programs they want to keep under their own control. Both models can work.

Arhhal can operate a focused ground-services scope around accommodation that the advisor has already booked or selected. The exact responsibilities are agreed before pricing so there is no assumption that every Morocco booking must be packaged the same way.

What can stay with the travel advisor

If accommodation remains outside Arhhal's scope, the advisor can keep responsibility for selecting and booking hotels and riads, choosing room categories, managing hotel payments and cancellation terms, handling hotel-specific client requests, and maintaining the commercial relationship attached to those reservations.

This can make sense when the advisor already knows which properties they want to use, has preferred hotel relationships, or wants to keep the accommodation side of the client booking within their own business model.

What Arhhal can handle around those hotel bookings

Arhhal can coordinate the confirmed Morocco ground operation around the advisor's accommodation plan. Depending on the agreed scope, that can include private vehicle and driver, airport or station transfers, intercity transportation, route and driving-time checks, licensed local guides, selected experiences, Sahara logistics, supplier coordination, and on-ground support.

The distinction matters. This is not simply a driver booked between hotels. The local operation has to connect route logic, timing, access, guides, experiences, desert services, and supplier handoffs so that the pieces work as one journey.

Why advisor-booked hotels still need an operational review

Accommodation is part of the route even when Arhhal is not making the reservation. A riad inside a medina may not be accessible by vehicle. A hotel that looks close on a map can create an awkward detour. A late arrival can make the next morning's plan unrealistic. A Sahara camp may require a specific transfer point or luggage arrangement.

For that reason, we recommend sharing hotel names and locations as early as possible. We are not reviewing the properties to take over the booking. We are checking that the ground operation can work around them and flagging practical issues before they become traveler problems.

Use confirmed scope as the responsibility line

When the advisor books accommodation directly, the advisor remains responsible for those reservations and the terms attached to them. Arhhal remains responsible for the Morocco services confirmed through Arhhal. The final proposal should make that division visible before the traveler arrives.

There will still be operational handoffs between the two sides. Hotel names, locations, check-in expectations, vehicle access, pickup timing, luggage requirements, and the next day's route can all affect services Arhhal is operating. Clear information sharing is what allows separate commercial responsibilities to work together on the ground.

A practical workflow for an advisor-managed hotel plan

Start by sending the travel dates, group size, arrival and departure points, proposed route, hotels already booked or under consideration, client pace, and the ground services you want Arhhal to manage. If part of the route is still open, say so. We do not need a finished itinerary before we can identify the important operational questions.

Arhhal then reviews route feasibility, road timing, hotel access, transfer logic, guide and experience needs, and any Sahara dependencies. Once the responsibilities are clear, we confirm the operating scope and the applicable commercial arrangement for that relationship and booking.

Commercial arrangements can follow the service scope

A partial-scope booking is still a professional advisor relationship. The commercial setup for the confirmed Morocco services is agreed privately before booking and can include commissionable arrangements where applicable.

Arhhal does not publish one universal public commission percentage because the correct arrangement depends on the relationship, route, and services being confirmed. The important point for planning is that the advisor can keep accommodation outside Arhhal's scope without reducing the Morocco operation to a simple transport booking.

When full service may still be the better model

Keeping hotels on the advisor side is an option, not a rule. A broader service model can be more practical when accommodation is not yet selected, the route is still changing, the advisor wants one local party coordinating most components, or the client expects an integrated package with fewer supplier handoffs.

The useful question is not which model is universally better. It is which responsibilities the advisor wants to keep and which Morocco responsibilities should sit with the destination-side partner for this client.

Who this working model can suit

This structure can suit independent travel advisors, host-agency advisors, boutique agencies, and advisors using preferred hotel programs or direct hotel relationships. It can also work when only part of the accommodation is already booked and the remaining route still needs local planning.

If you already have the hotels, send us the route. Arhhal can review the operating logic and build the confirmed Morocco ground services around them.
